The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund is now open for applications. All applications should be made to the Third Sector Western Isles. The fund is open to grassroots community organisations and charities. Please read the guidance below before filling out the application form. The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults was established in October 2021 and to date has distributed around £51 million with more than 4700 grants made to local projects across Scotland. A further £15 million is available to community organisations for 2024/25.
The Fund has a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and aims to build and develop capacity within community organisations to support the mental health and wellbeing of individuals. It aims to help tackle the impact of social isolation, loneliness and mental health inequalities made worse by the cost-of-living crisis.
An estimated 300,000 people benefitted from the Fund in the first year alone. Over 1400 community projects were supported in Year 2 (2022/23), with a further increase in Year 3 (2023/24), as more than 1500 grants were issued to support mental health and wellbeing projects across Scot
