Say thank you this Volunteers Week!
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.
Volunteers Week takes place 1-7 June every year and sees charities and voluntary groups get together to recognise the contribution volunteers make to our communities every day. During the week, the Volunteer Centre Western Isles will help organisations to celebrate their volunteers, saying thank you to volunteers and recognising their invaluable and diverse contribution to our community.
This year, Volunteers’ Week is returning to its roots – focusing on celebrating all the great things that volunteers do. It is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
Get involved and say thank you to your volunteers!
From trustees and campaigners to carers and fundraisers, this is a great time to think about the fantastic contribution all your volunteers make. The Western Isles has one of the highest rates of volunteering in the UK, it’s a great time to thank say thank you to all our amazing volunteers.
As well as helping others, volunteering has been shown to improve volunteers’ wellbeing too. It’s human nature to feel good after helping someone out. Volunteering can help you gain valuable new skills and experiences, and boost your confidence.
If you would like to get involved we can support you with ideas for thanking your volunteers, such as:
- Volunteers Week thank you cards,
- Volunteer Week certificates
- use social media to show the amazing work they do with our Volunteers Week frames, or
- hosting events such as tea parties, using Volunteers Week bunting.
You can pick up Volunteers Week thank you cards and certificates from the Volunteer Centre offices in Stornoway, Tarbert, Balivanich or Castlebay.
