Scotland’s Women Stand – Regional Event in Stornoway 7th September

Scotland’s Women Stand is a movement to support and empower the women of Scotland to stand for political office. A major focus of this movement is a massive event we’re hosting at the Scottish Parliament on 7th September, where we’re bringing 400 women together for an inspirational day of keynote speeches, workshops, and networking. Demand for the event has been massive – we’ve already got a waiting list of over 200 women! – and we’re keen to ensure that as many women as possible from across Scotland are able to attend – which is why we’re reaching out today.

Alongside the Scottish Parliament event and also on Saturday, 7th September, we’re running four “regional hubs” across the country – essentially, opportunities for women to virtually attend the event in their own community without needing to travel to Edinburgh for the day. Thanks to support from the local council, one of these four regional hubs will be taking place at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in Stornoway, on 7th September, from 9:30AM – 3PM. The event is completely free to attend, and will consist of a live broadcast of the Parliament event with the opportunity for hub participants to ask questions virtually, lunch, and an Exploring Your Political Pathway workshop by the Parliament Project.
