Volunteer Centre Western Isles

For Organisations

Organisations

If your organisation involves volunteers, or you are thinking of doing so, then we have lots of resources which can help you.

Register your organisation and opportunities with us for free to reach your potential volunteers. Simply email, give us a call and answer a few simple questions or download our quick registration form and email it to us.

We can provide support with volunteer management. We offer training from expert staff and information through our online Good Practice Guides.

Volunteer Centre Western Isles can offer assistance to any volunteer involving organisation – whether you are a small local group, a branch of a large national or a statutory organisation.

What we do

Voluntary and community organisations register with the Volunteer Centre Western Isles and inform us of their current volunteering vacancies. You are then matched to potential volunteers, who are also taken through a registration process to find out what their interests and skills are. We publish a quarterly newsletter to keep all groups registered with us, and other contacts, informed of current news and issues.

Once registered, we will enter your organisation and volunteering opportunity onto Milo, the National database of volunteering used in every Volunteer Centre across Scotland. This entry links to our Volunteer Opportunities database on our website and also on the Volunteer Scotland website. This ensures volunteers can search for suitable local volunteering opportunities online.

You will also receive our quarterly newsletter and notification of any managers network meetings, events or training that we plan to hold.

Contact us at any time for support or assistance. Our office in Stornoway runs on a drop- in basis. You can call into the office and if we cannot help you there and then, we will offer an appointment or refer you to the appropriate agency. Our other offices are only open part time so it is usually best to phone ahead before dropping in. Check out our contact page to find your nearest office.

Our resources, downloads and programme of training courses are free to ensure they are accessible to all local groups and organisations.

We would really appreciate your feedback on our service and available resources, please let us know how we are doing!
