Lunchtime Learning: Greening the Workplace – Energy Efficiency for Third Sector Groups

These lunchtime sessions, which will be run across the Western Isles in partnership with TIG (Tighean Innse Gall) and the TSI (Third Sector Interface), are to encourage third sector groups to look at ways of becoming more energy efficient in their organisations. This will involve a short presentation, some questions and the opportunity to have some discussion as a group or individually. Light refreshments will be provided so booking a place is essential.

TIG, VCWI and the TSI partners are all committed to greener ways of operating, and we want to encourage the organisations we work with to be thinking about it too.

TIG also wants to take the chance to pose questions from the new home energy efficiency consultation being carried out by March 26th. This is a good chance to highlight this, as it will affect us all by 2024. Scottish Government are consulting on new mandatory energy efficiency targets – by 2024 – in the home which means when you sell, buy or gift your home (even if you remain in it) you have to make it more energy efficient. This will be to the mandatory target of efficiency grade C, which will mean significant upgrades to most homes in the islands.

Interested? Book a place by contacting your local VCWI office.
