Recognising that young people are not just the citizens of tomorrow, but also the citizens of today, this document seeks to share practice in involving young volunteers in health-related volunteering roles.

The document has been produced by the National Group for Volunteering. It describes how volunteering by young people can contribute to a number of national strategic goals and provides some principles for improving practice. It aims to encourage NHS Boards to adopt a systematic, methodical approach to identifying and creating appropriate opportunities for young people to volunteer, and also to provide relevant training for the staff who oversee them.
